Beechwood Court is a newbuild Extra Care housing scheme consisting of forty self contained flats with communal areas. The building is constructed on the site of an earlier sheltered housing scheme and the development, while necessarily dense, has been carefully designed to provide a sufficient number of flats to justify the care team which is part of an extra-care development.
The flats are generously sized and many benefit from large bay windows orientated to maximise sunlight and views. The corridors leading to the flats are widened out adjacent to each flat entrance door to provide the possibility to store buggies outside each flat, rather than in a buggy store as is conventionally the case.
There is an attractive internal courtyard, which provides pleasant outdoor space and other common areas include a commercial kitchen, hairdressing room and dining room with communal seating space adjacent to the front entrance.
